LAKER Broadcasting is the student-run sports broadcasting program at Lake Oswego High school in Lake Oswego, Oregon. We broadcast LOHS sporting events in a radio and television style over the internet at www.lakerbroadcasting.com

LAKER Broadcasting was founded in 2002 by John Strong, a Lake Oswego High School senior. Strong's career goal was to become a sportscaster, but noticed that there were no programs at LOHS to help him pursue his dream.

Taking matters into his own hands, Strong contacted the I High Broadcasting network that fall. With support from new principal Bruce Plato and the Laker Club PTA, and fellow student/ color commentator Erick Olson, LAKER Broadcasting went on air for its first football broadcast in the fall of 2002. Later that year, Strong and Olsen put Laker basketball on the internet for the first time, drawing larger and larger audiences with each broadcast.

The next year, Spencer Raymond took the reigns with Strong's graduation. Raymond was the first Executive Producer to do video broadcasts of Laker sports. Under Raymond, the organization grew and thrived. In the spring of 2006, LAKER Broadcasting broadcast its first baseball game from Les Darby Field.

In the fall of 2006, Jeremy Rozansky took over as Executive Producer, bringing more students into the organization.

Currently, LAKER Broadcasting is proud to be one of the only student-run broadcasting programs in the United States of America. We have been featured on FOX 12 Oregon, KOIN 6, The Oregonian, and The Lake Oswego Review. We have also broadcast from such notable locations as The Rose Garden, Autzen Stadium, Mac Court, The Chiles Center, Reser Stadium, and PGE Park.

The program has already produced notable members that are now working in the professional broadcasting field. John Strong is the producer of The Bald Faced Truth, and the host of Strong at Night on sports radio 95.5 the Game in Portland. Erick Olsen does play-by-play for Hermiston High School sports and is a reporter for KOHU in Hermiston, Oregon. Spencer Raymond is currently a junior at Syracuse University, the nation's top broadcasting school, and is an intern/reporter for NPR, and is the news director at the campus TV station, Citrus TV. Last year's producer, Greg Talbott, is a play-by-play broadcaster for the Spokane Sunz basketball of the ABA, and will attend Gonzaga University starting in fall 2009.

Thank you for choosing LAKER Broadcasting for your LOHS sports coverage!
